XSN023 - The Square Root of Evil - Killerbytes

September 3, 2008

The Square Root of Evil (aka Jen Pearson) has been featured on over half a dozen compilations on US, UK & Canadian labels including Toast and Jam’s “We Bore 2″ and Uncharted Audio’s “Idea Hoard Uncut”. She currently has one EP, called “Chirping Data” out on Belladonna. Her work has been described as everything from IDM, Breakcore, Techno, 8-bit, Drum ‘n Bass, Glitch & Jungle, as the sub-sub-sub genres continue to split further & further…

‘Killerbytes’ features five tracks of tongue-in-cheek lo-fi 8-bit goodness. As usual we are making the link to the EP available to our mailing list and group members one week before officially posting it on our web site.

Download the EP directly from here.

The Demos email address has been fixed.

August 8, 2008

We just discovered the demos email box has been full since June 22. We’ve now corrected the problem. Sorry for any inconvenience experienced by artists attempting to contact us through that email box in the last month and a half.

XSN020 and XSN021

May 19, 2008

Our next two releases are now available for free download from the XSN series:

XSN020 - Fabrics “Haute Couture” - Combining elements of glitch, dub, jack, and solid melody-driven grooves, Greece’s Fabrics prove that they mean business. The tracks on the EP sit at an intersection of Chain Reaction, Aphex Twin, and Funkstoerung… aimed at the dancefloor and the home listener.

XSN021 - Psonikadia “Sounds from Nibiru” - In his latest XSN release ‘Sounds from Nibiru’ Psonikadia offers a continuous 28 minute mix of tracks from his upcoming XDR series release “Sounds From the Home World,” to follow later this year.

Hitting the ground running.

May 1, 2008

We really enjoyed our slow April and having some time off from the hectic pace of releases that we’ve kept up since February of last year, and now we’re ready to kick back in with a bunch of great new releases scheduled for both the netlabel and commercial catalogs.

First up is Mercury Effect’s ‘Schizometric’ coming out on online music stores May 20th. Mercury Effect’s music is unique and beautiful, combining intricate glitched out programming and traditional accoustic sources.

Later this summer on the commercial XDR series we will be releasing brand new EPs from Sascha Mueller, Fabrics, m u t o, Phylum Sinter, Psonikadia, and ChemicalX. All of these artists are really stepping up to the plate and delivering fantastic material and we’re very excited to be able to make this music available. Additionally, the new ChemicalX EP is slated to include a remix by DnB maestro Psidream. More details will be coming shortly as we get closer to the release dates for each release.

On the netlabel XSN catalog we are lining up the releases for the next several months, and we’re currently working on putting together a release with an artist that is new to us who goes by the name Borderline. He produces solid DnB in a style similar to classic Matrix and Ed Rush.

A few Xynthetic folks will be traveling to DEMF in Detroit in May. And a a couple of our artists, Phylum Sinter and Fabrics, are tentatively scheduled to play at afterparties. We’re waiting for the details to come together, but we’ll post them when we have something concrete.

XSN019 - Datascraper “Remnant” is now available for download from its release page. We’re very proud that Datascraper chose to release this EP through Xynthetic and that we could be part of this metamorphosis. The EP is made up of all new material and grooves on the noisier side of what we do around here. Check it.

XSN017 - Lucid Reflections - Bevroren Maanden now available

January 8, 2008

Our newest release is upon us. Lucid Reflections, brings us his 6 track ep ‘Bevroren Maanden’. Hailing from the Netherlands, Lucid Reflections brings us some nice, dreamy and glitched out ambient. Bevroren Maanden sounds like a soundtrack for an as-of-yet unmade film; bringing beatiful organic elements in and out of the harder edge of minimal beats and clicks. “Bevroren Maanden” is Dutch for “Frozen Months,” and this release is completely influenced by the winter months. Elegant atmospheres and intricate rhythms combine into chilly, beautiful soundscapes.
